Barolo DOCG Gian Luca Colombo 2020

Gian Luca Colombo is one of Italy’s mavericks, seamlessly blending tradition and modernity. This young winemaker, who has won several awards in Italy, established a farm in 2011 where he produces both wine and food. There you will find vegetables, eggs, pasta and, of course, grapes.
All of his work is carried out in harmony with nature and guided by biodynamic principles. Gian Luca Colombo strives to convey each terroir and each vintage in his wines. His estate is located in Roddi, between Turin and Genoa, more precisely south-west of Alba. This is where the talented young winemaker produces wines from several appellations, including Langhe, Barbera d’Alba, Verduno Pelaverga and Barolo. He treats every single bottle with the same meticulous care. He works five hectares, four of which are used for wine trading.
In the winery, Gian Luca Colombo favours low-intervention winemaking and ageing in Austrian oak barriques and amphorae. The estate’s distinctive hallmark lies in the extended maceration of the grapes, which can last up to two months.
