Intensity
This Gamay from Leynes shows pure fruit, saline acidity and fine tannins.
More infoSet in the heart of Beaujolais, the Gamay vines behind this wine average 40 years of age and cover roughly two hectares. The parcels rise along south-facing slopes at around 450 metres in altitude, rooted in granite soils. The fruit is vinified gently following manual harvests. Fermentation takes place at low temperature and proceeds naturally. This low-intervention approach aims to capture the terroir with finesse and authenticity. The wine is then given a short period of ageing before bottling.
The pale hue shows garnet glints. The nose offers a complex combination of red fruits such as strawberry and raspberry, along with peony, violet, sweet spice and hints of undergrowth. On the palate, a juicy attack opens onto fine tannins balanced by lively acidity, bringing tension and a saline lift on the finish.
