Domaine François Raquillet is a dependable favourite of the Mercurey appellation, and has produced a precise, accomplished Pinot Noir. It has benefited from cultivation in complex clay, limestone and marl soils. An indulgent wine, it reveals fresh fruit notes and a particularly voluptuous, soft texture. If you choose to drink it young, serve it at 14°C; or, at full maturity, at 16°C. It promises to form a perfect pairing with simmered poultry or braised lamb.
About the Producer François Raquillet
François Raquillet comes from a family of winemakers in their 10th generation. He took over the family domaine in 1990 which spans 10 hectares mostly in the Mercurey appellation. The range from Domaine Raquillet offer some of the finest examples of the appellation. The Mercurey La Brigadière is a wonderful white that pairs well with grilled fish. It has distinct aromas of white flowers and offers up great minerality in the mouth and a long finish.
