A top-class cuvée with an astonishing hint of the garrigue and tapenade. Just opening the bottle will transport you to the South of France. Fleshy, dense and complex, this Terrasses-du-Larzac is an excellent wine for food lovers.
More infoThis cuvée, from a new and very promising producer, has the very appealing southern aromas of red fruit, aromatic herbs and liquorice. Its velvety and elegant palate has plenty of energy and quite a persistent finish. The wine is made with Grenache, Syrah and Cinsault grapes that have been harvested by hand, fermented in concrete and wooden vats and aged for one year in tronconic wooden vats. This easy-drinking wine is best enjoyed young (within five years) with a dish such as rabbit in tomato and basil sauce.
About the Producer Clos Ventas
Located in Saint-Jean-de la Blaquière in Languedoc (Terrasses du Larzac), Le Clos Ventas is a very recent domain, created in 2013 by John and Kirsty Sanderson. The 4.5-hectare vineyard is planted with Cinsault, Grenache, Syrah, Mourvèdre, Marsanne and Grenache Blanc grapes. It is cultivated according to biodynamic principles. Although still young, it has been able to make a name for itself and win over a number of admirers of its very lightly extracted, highly fruity wines.
