More infoThis 100% Carignan (as the name suggests) has been vinified in small, 500-litre tanks, to preserve its delicate fruit. It is then matured for eight months in egg-shaped vats and demi-muids barrels. Organic certified and made for easy drinking, the wine has delicious notes of red and black fruits, the garrigue and sweet spice.
About the Producer Château Revelette
Since the mid 1980s Château Revelette has been run by the talented producer Peter Fischer, who has always been switched on to natural winemaking. Sheltered by Mount Sainte Victoire, the vineyard lies on the northern-most terroir of the Coteaux d'Aix-en-Provence appellation; characterised by their harsh, cold winters and dry, hot summers. Peter Fischer has boundless enthusiasm for making real wine; cultivating 11 different varieties over 17 plots situated at an altitude of between 330–400 metres. He obtained organic certification 20 years ago – favouring grass cover in the vineyard, limited copper dosage, green harvesting and manual cultivation – and his alchemic work in the winery respects tradition, but is endlessly attentive and vintage-specific. He has recently switched over to egg-shaped concrete tanks for his white wines.
