Its Syrah, Grenache, Mourvèdre and Carignan are matured for between 12 and 18 months in oak barrels (40% new wood). In the glass, the wine balances the rich qualities of a sunny climate with the elegance of a cool terroir to perfection.
About the Producer Château d'Aussières
Château d'Aussières sits in the heart of Corbières. It unfortunately suffered a certain decline in the 1950s, but baron Eric de Rothschild decided to raise it from its ashes and bought the property in 1999, employing men from the region to restore it to its former glory. Winemaking is Bordeaux in style – raising in wooden vats – and the wines carry a generous fruit expression from their sun-drenched Languedoc vines.
