Pinot Gris Lieu-dit Hohrain Emile Beyer 2016
Pinot Gris AOC
13%
0.75L
Intensity
Like many of the domain’s lieux-dits, this lies adjacent to some grands crus. The Pinot Gris therefore growns in ideal conditions: high altitude, north-east exposure and good ventilation, which translates into a very fruity (pear, peach) and smoky profile when tasting. Its persistence and concentration lend this wine excellent aging potential.
About the Producer Emile Beyer
Since 1580, the Beyer family have built up a very good reputation. Situated in the village of Eguisheim, south of Colmar, the 14th generation of the Beyer family currently manages this estate that spans 17 hectares and boasts two grands crus. The variety of soils and terroirs is preserved thanks to biodynamic viticulture. The aromatic purity of the grapes is conserved through gentle anaerobic vinifications. The wines are compelling, with plenty of concentration. Perfect for ageing or pairing with fine food.
