While its origins lie in the stunning Californian wine landscape, the Léon cuvée is a real journey to the heart of the Jura, which inspired the elaborate blend of Trousseau, Poulsard and Pinot Noir. The vines stretch along the narrow banks of the Steiner stream. In the winery, the harvested grapes ferment in oak casks for 18 days with the skins. Fermentation is triggered by native yeasts. Absolutely no sulphur is added during the lengthy vinification process. The cuvée is bottled by gravity without fining or filtration.
The sparkling, clear, ruddy-red colour reveals a stunning nose, with rich aromas of blackberry and apple pie. The juicy and spicy palate reveals delicious aromas of spice, leading to a fresh, fruity and persistent finish. This delicate red wine can easily be cellared for several years.
