Discover retsina, a Greek specialty which is similar to what the ancient Greeks drank. Guaranteed amazement and wonder!

More info

This cuvée is a single-variety Roditis, a local regional variety planted on hillsides and naturally "resinated". Retsina is in fact a white wine that offers our closest modern connection to what the ancient Greeks already drank. In their day, resin was added in order to help keep seals airtight and to avoid any form of oxidation. Tasting reveals a particularly floral, mineral nose, characterised – of course – by notes of resin and dried herbs. Its pale yellow colour is smooth on the palate and rich in notes of citrus, white fruit and aromatic herbs. It is a wine of great finesse that has been vinified in amphorae for 6 months.

About the Producer Tetramythos

This domaine, which was established in 1999, was forged from the relationship between the Spanos brothers and oenologist Pangiotis Pagiannopoulos. It has been managed along biodynamic lines from the very outset and is situated on the clay and limestone soils of Mount Helmos. There are several indigenous grape varieties, supplemented by international varieties. The domaine is also a pioneer in the wine tourism field and built a new state-of-the-art cellar in 2004, with a wine bar and hotel close to the domaine.
