Riesling F.X. Pichler Loibner Berg Smaragd 2014

The wine

This cuvée offers up aromas of citrus (lemon) and yellow-fleshed fruits (apricot, peach) with a hint of something more exotic. These fruity flavours can also be found on the rich and sumptuous palate and the finish is delicately spiced with a beautifully bitter edge. This wine needs time to open up, so transfer it to a carafe well in advance, or leave it for a few years before drinking.

About the Producer F.X. Pichler

The Kracher domaine has earned an international reputation for the quality and sophistication of its sweet wines and has become the standard bearer for Austrian vineyards. Three generations of winegrowers have worked since 1928 to produce consistently excellent sweet wines. It is located close to Neusiedl lake where the climate is propitious to the formation of noble rot. There is a wide range of wines and different vinifications are offered, even for wines of similar sweetness. The wines very clearly reflect the know-how handed down from one generation to the next with an enduring love of wine. They are all perfectly balanced, rich and wonderfully aromatic.
