Glen Keith 1997 Of. Cask n° 72636-43 - bottled 2014 Wilson & Morgan Barrel Selection Limited Edition

The wine

A Glen Keith distilled in 1997 and bottled in 2014 by Wilson & Morgan, aged in a sherry cask. Wilson & Morgan was founded in 1992 by the Rossi family in Treviso. The son of a Venetian wine and oil merchant, Mario Rossi diversified the family business to include whisky importation after WWII, starting with blends in the 1970s, before moving onto single malts in the 1990s. It was one of his two sons, Fabio, a trained oenologist, who developed the bottling side of the business. Wilson & Morgan is known for its excellent taste in original finishes, such as port, rum and sherry casks.

About the Producer Glen Keith

Founded in 1957 by the Chivas Brothers group, the Glen Keith distillery was, in its early days, designed to trial new ideas. Originally equipped for triple distillation, it was also the first to install a gas-fired still system, developed its own strains of yeast and produced a peated single malt named Glenisla. The distillery was mothballed in 1999 and then bought by Pernod Ricard, who updated the distillery and relaunched production in 2013.
