Domaine Saumaize now covers just over 8 hectares in Pouilly-Fuissé, Saint-Véran and Mâcon-Bussières. Respectful of their terroir (ploughing, compost, vineyard work, no insecticides), Jacques and Nathalie Saumaize produce wines with a solid reputation in the Mâconnais. A must-see!
About the wine
The soil of the Solutré terroir is very similar to La Roche's own soil. The Pouilly-Fuissé produced from it is perhaps even cleaner and more mineral in the taste sensations it affords.
