Information
This bottling named Old Potrero after the San Francisco neighbourhood of the same name was launched in 1993 following multiple experiments to reproduce the exact feel of a typical pre-1920s American whiskey. It is characterized by richness and finesse, showing that all this hard work paid off. It was bottled at 63% ABV.
If you tilt the spirit into the bowl of the glass, you will find a golden liquid that can be gently swirled to release the aromas. On the nose, we find rose petals, a spicy dimension and few intriguing salty notes. On the palate now, you will find a whiskey of unparalleled depth, with fruity flavours combined with more earthy notes.
This is a rich whiskey one can happily pair with a homemade dessert. Why not a caramel tart? The salty aspect will also pair well with a platter of aged cheeses, such as a 24-month comté. Enjoy!
