    About the producer

This property, established in 2010 by Chris and Suzaan Alheit, is located in South Africa. Before embarking on this venture, this gifted couple had already begun their journey both domestically and internationally working in California, Australia, and even in Germany, where they explored the magnificent terroir of the Mosel region. Through these experiences, they came to appreciate the importance of terroir, which they elevate through the least interventionist methods of viticulture and vinification possible. Unsurprisingly, the crops are hand-harvested, and native yeasts play a significant role in the winery. Convinced that white wines from the Cape Town region are really unique, they cultivate old Chenin Blanc vines, allowing the grapes to undergo alcoholic fermentation in wood. Their outstanding expertise allows the wines to unveil genuine elegance, dispelling any preconceived notions we may hold about southern hemisphere wines.

    About the wine

Alheit practices biodynamic viticulture in the hills above Citrusdal Mountain, respecting the land and the vines. This 100% Chenin Blanc, ultimate expression of the terroir, stems from a unique climate and biodynamic practices that preserve the vineyard’s natural balance.
This cuvée reveals a golden colour which heralds an exceptional sensory experience. Aromas of ripe mango combine with white floral notes in perfect harmony. On the palate, the freshness of the citrus fruit combines with hints of honey, creating an exquisite complexity that lingers in the balanced finish.
Start your meal with a mango and avocado carpaccio, followed by scallops in cream sauce. Vegetarians will appreciate a saffron risotto pairing, while a citrus tart dessert will prolong the delicacy of this white wine.
The Alheit family, custodians of the Citrusdal mountains, perpetuate a heritage which unites land and vines. This wine is a reflection of their commitment. It relates the intimate connection between passionate winemakers, terroir and wine.
