Information
Maison Agrapart & Fils, founded in Avize in the late 19th century, now extends over twelve hectares on the Côte des Blancs, eight of which are classified as grand cru. A family farm, it has maintained the status of récoltant manipulant. On a vineyard with 65 parcels, the vines (Chardonnay alone) are on average 40 years old. This very fine domain is particularly popular with wine lovers and is gaining fame: the cuvées produced by this sought-after maison are increasingly difficult to find! They stand out for their great finesse, mainly thanks to the low dosage and the fine minerality of the wines.
The 7 Crus Extra Brut Cuvée from Agrapart is a blend of 90% Chardonnay and 10% Pinot Noir. This blend is elaborated from the seven crus on the estate, including the Grands Crus d’Avize, Oger, Oiry and Cramant along with the Premiers Crus from Avenay Val d’Or, Bergères les Vertus and Mardeuil, delivering an authentic representation of Maison Agrapart. The winemaking process begins with manual tilling in the vineyard and fermentation is triggered by native yeasts, guaranteeing an authentic expression of the cru. Malolactic fermentation is conducted completely and the wine is bottled without fining or filtration. After a 24-month ageing period on lees with manual riddling, the Champagne has a limited dosage of 6 g of sugar per litre and a reduced SO? of 50 mg per litre, ensuring remarkable purity and freshness.
The nose reveals delicate notes of white fruit such as pear and green apple, along with delicate floral hints of acacia flower and jasmine. On the palate, the Champagne reveals a creamy texture and a refreshing liveliness. The long, elegant finish strikes a fine balance of freshness and complexity with a pleasant persistence of brioche and hazelnut.
