Information
Le Paradis Cire Orange is a work in its own right, born of the lands of Anjou, in the Loire Valley. Although it does not claim the Anjou appellation because of its radical style, this wine is deeply rooted in the region's wine-growing history, where the Chenin Blanc has reigned supreme since the Middle Ages. The vines grow in black, sandstone-rich schist soils, imparting vibrant minerality, a saline tension, and a finely expressive character to the wine. The vineyard is tended using traditional organic methods, without additives or labels, and with unwavering respect for living organisms. Harvests are carried out by hand, and a selection of well-ripened grapes are picked. Vinification starts with skin maceration - allowing the grapes to remain in contact with the skin, similar to a red wine, producing a dry orange wine that is not filtered and sulphur-free.
The wine is orange in colour, almost amber. The nose evokes candied citrus peel, turmeric, black tea, with floral and honeyed notes. The wine is dry, full and textured on the palate, enhanced by subtle tannins with a lovely bitterness on the finish and great mineral energy.
