About the wine

The Rheingau is one of Germany’s oldest and most prestigious wine regions, where Riesling has reigned supreme for over 800 years. Stretching along the right bank of the Rhine between Wiesbaden and Lorch, it has established itself as a benchmark for age-worthy white wines. The Gräfenberg vineyard, classified as a Grosse Lage, the German equivalent of a Grand cru, is set on steep slopes above the village of Kiedrich. Its soils are composed of schistous phyllites mixed with clay and quartz, ensuring excellent drainage and contributing to the wine’s precision and depth. The grapes are harvested by hand. In the winery, the fruit is gently pressed without crushing to preserve the purity of the juice. Fermentation occurs spontaneously at low temperature. he wine is then aged on its fine lees for 12 months in large, seasoned 1,200-litre German oak barrels, without stirring.
The pale golden hue is lifted by bright green highlights. he elegant, complex nose reveals aromas of lime, white peach, orange zest and elderflower, underscored by a saline note. Lively and taut on the palate, the wine combines vibrant acidity with impressive volume and precision.
