Information
Les Gasneries is a historic Anjou locality where old vines of more than fifty years of age drive their roots deep into the soils, producing fruit of uncommon concentration. The poetic name, Sang de Lumière, reflects the intensity the winemakers seek to express. In the winery, vinification follows a natural, low-intervention approach. After manual harvests, the fruit ferments without inputs, and the wine is then carefully aged on its lees in seasoned casks. It is bottled without fining or filtration. Lastly, the cuvée is bottled without fining or filtration.
The garnet-red hue reveals purplish glints. The nose is intense and clean, marked by black cherry, wild blackberry, sweet spice and black pepper, underpinned by a mineral note reminiscent of graphite. On the palate, a juicy, vibrant attack opens onto vivid fruit. Silky yet present tannins provide structure, leading into a long, fruit-driven finish.
