A Blancs de Noirs pét-nat revealing a delicate spritz, red berry and citrus aromatics, carried by a lively, saline palate.
More infoThis pét-nat is made from Chardonnay vines grown on Beaujolais granite soils. The steep slopes, rooted at around 300 metres in altitude, lend the grapes lively acidity and floral aromatics. In the winery, the fruit undergoes gentle pressing to extract clear juice. Fermentation is completed in bottle, giving the wine a touch of residual sweetness and a fine, delicate mousse. The wine is then aged on its lees in bottle.
The pale hue, lightly tinged with salmon pink, is typical of a Blancs de Noirs style. The aromatic nose reveals layered notes of strawberry, raspberry, rhubarb, candied citrus and flowers, lifted by subtle brioche nuances. On the palate, the wine is lively and refreshing, showing a fine balance of fresh fruit flavours and crisp acidity. The finish is clean and gently tangy, leaving a fresh, thirst-quenching impression.
About the Producer Domaine des Marrans - J-J- L. & M.Mélinand
The story of the domain began in 1970, when Jean-Jacques Mélinand bought 4 hectares of vines from Clos du Pavillon in Fleurie. The property continued to grow, and soon the vats were too small for the amount of grapes produced. The domain now covers five appellations: Fleurie, Beaujolais, Beaujolais-Villages, Chiroubles and Morgon. The domain has been managed by Jean-Jacques’ son Matthieu since 2009.
