Volnay Sous la Chapelle Chavy-Chouet 2016

The wine

Bolnay Sous la Chapelle is produced from young vines (which is why this premier cru sells for the price of a village wine!). The wine is full of flavour and fruity (dark fruit), with a very distinctive character. The tannins are there but are softened and elegant. This cuvée pairs very well with delicate meats (such as poultry, veal and lamb) particularly when these dishes are prepared with mushrooms.

About the Producer Chavy-Chouet

Domaine Chavy Chouet, located in Meursault, is a family vineyard that extends over 13 hectares and has plots in the most beautiful villages of the Côte de Beaune: Meursault, Puligny-Montrachet, Saint-Aubin, Volnay and Pommard. The domaine comes from the union of the two eponymous families, settled for generations in the region. Currently managed by Romaric Chavy (7th generation), the farm is cultivated in an environmentally friendly manner, limiting chemicals as much as possible. The very fair prices mean it is unmissable for any lover of great Burgundy wines.
