More infoThis Cahors takes its name from the vineyard’s resident quail. Crafted with ageing in mind, it is made with 100% Malbec cultivated on limestone plateaux, and matured for one year in oak barrels. This is a powerful and generous wine with appealingly intense notes of liquorice, prunes, truffles and sweet spices. Its elegant tannic structure makes it ideal for pairing with full flavoured foods such as grilled meat or mushroom-based dishes.
About the Producer Château Vari
Sylvie and Yann Jeston acquired Château Vari and its 20 hectares of Monbazillac and Bergerac terroir in 1994. The clay and limestone rich soils here bestow the wines with great freshness. The average age of the vines on this estate is forty which are cultivated according to certified organic methods (Ecocert). Wonderful wines at gentle prices.
