Cosse-Maisonneuve

The Cosse-Maisonneuve estate’s story could easily pass as a winemaking epic. From the day they met, Matthieu Cosse and Catherine Maisonneuve shared the same ambition: unlocking the full potential of fine wines from Cahors.

Matthieu Cosse – who also manages the well-known château La Coste in Provence – has been running the Cosse-Maisonneuve domaine with Catherine Maisonneuve since 1999. The 28-hectare vineyard is cultivated biodynamically (with Demeter certification). The vines are mostly made up of Malbec, with some Merlot and Tannat. In the winery, work is done with the same philosophy as in the vineyard: vinifications are as natural as possible (with indigenous yeasts, no fining or filtration, and long, well-controlled élevage). This domain, whose wines impress with their personality and fruitiness, is now a member of the Cahors appellation elite.
