Languedoc | 2023 vintage
Weather conditions
The region experienced a dry winter, dry spring, and a late summer heatwave. Non-irrigated vineyards suffered significantly from drought, with production drops of up to 40% in some areas.
Budding was slow due to low water reserves, and ripening accelerated sharply after the late-August heatwave, causing some grapes to wilt.
Harvest
Harvesting began early due to hot and dry conditions.
Profile of the wine
White and rosé wines are aromatic but sometimes lacking freshness. Reds are often highly concentrated, with dense tannic structures and sunny profiles.
Cuvées from Gard are especially attractive. Pic-Saint-Loup Syrah stands out as one of the region’s finest in a decade. Faugères reds show strong ageing potential, and the whites are particularly bright.
