A single cask Glenrothes (#909700) distilled in 1995 and bottled at cask strength in 2018, matured in a sherry butt. This bottling was part of the Artist range, created by La Maison du Whisky in 2011. Every year, a team from La Maison du Whisky visits Edradour to select casks from various distilleries from the vaults of Signatory Vintage. These casks are bottled individually at cask strength, without chill filtration or colouring. The range is organized into five-year age brackets, such as Over 5 Year Old and Over 10 Year Old. The labels for the range are produced by a different artist every year. A limited edition of 530 bottles.

Nonostante un pedigree che potrebbe far impallidire più di una distilleria, Glenrothes ha mantenuto il suo carattere esclusivo ed elitario. Rimasta per più di un secolo in seno alla Highland Distillers (Edrington Group), allora proprietaria di Macallan, Bunnahabhain, Highland Park e Tamdhu, Glenrothes, si è fatta apprezzare tra gli amanti dei malt whisky per l'eccellenza dei suoi invecchiamenti in botti di sherry, come testimoniato dalla versione di 12 anni negli anni '80 e '90. Se nel corso degli anni la distilleria e il marchio The Glenrothes sono passati di mano in mano (Pernod Ricard, Berry Brothers & Rudd), ha saputo comunque conservare un posto speciale presso gli intenditori, come dimostra il successo costante delle sue versioni vintage, 1972, 1973 e 1979, anche se la maggior parte della sua produzione resta, ancora e sempre, dedicata ai blend: Cutty Sark e Famous Grouse.
