La cuvée

Les Frères de la Côte No. 1 is a dark rum distilled in April 2020 and matured in barrel initially for eight months. In January 2021, when the Tres Hombres yacht dropped its anchor in Martinique, the rum was then transferred to 50 and 225 litre cognac barrels and loaded into the hold. The crossing to the Old Continent took four months, after which the barrels were given additional time to rest in the cellars of Frères de la Côte before being bottled at cask strength in September 2021. A limited edition of 2,300 bottles.

Situata alle porte di Fort de France, in Martinica, la distilleria La Favorite deve il suo nome a Napoleone, il quale dopo aver assaggiato un sorso della bevanda, disse “questo diventerà il mio liquore preferito”. Fondata nel 1842, la Habitation La Favorite produceva originariamente zucchero di canna. Dopo l’acquisto da parte di Henri Dormoy, l’azienda fu modernizzata e trasformata in distilleria. Venne quindi dotata di una macchina a vapore tutt’oggi in funzione. Per quanto riguarda i distillati, questi invecchiano principalmente in vecchie botti di cognac.
