Ecosse, Highland du Nord. Distillerie en production. Propriétaire : Diageo.

Fondée en 1967 sur le site de son illustre consœur Clynelish#1, (rebaptisée Brora en 1969) dont elle prit le nom, Clynelish commença sa production en Juin 1968. A la pointe de la technologie, elle triple la capacité de production de Brora. A l'instar de Caol Ila, son alter ego tourbé de l'île d'Islay, l'essentiel de sa production est alors voué à être absorbé par le blend Johnnie Walker. Il faudra attendre 1994 pour que les premières versions officielles, dites « de distillerie », voient le jour sous la gamme Rare Malts Selection pour les versions millésimées et à fort degré (Clynelish 1972, 23 ans 63%), puis sous la gamme Flora & Fauna (Clynelish 14 ans, 43%), et Flora & Fauna Cask Strength, lancée en 1997, présentant une version millésimée 1982.Rare, confidentielle durant les années 80 et 90, Clynelish sortit de son anonymat grâce aux négociants (Gordon & MacPhail, Cadenhead, Signatory Vintage) qui prirent en main ce single malt et en proposèrent de très nombreuses versions millésimées ou âgées, de type small batch ou single cask : Clynelish 12 ans Orange Label Gordon & MacPhail, Clynelish 28 ans 1971 Signatory Vintage, Clynelish 1972 Cask Strength Cadenhead).
